Just Do This To Recover Quickly From A Flu – Alternative Flu Remedies

Even if you look after yourself there is a chance that you can catch a cold or flu. Obviously if you follow a clean diet get plenty of rest and exercise regularly you can not only reduce your chances of getting sick but also reduce the severity of your cold and flu.

I normally take my health very seriously but every now and then, normally in the holidays, I will drink too much alcohol, eat too much junk food or not get enough rest and I may get a cold or flu.

When that happens, this is my treatment for a flu;

Drink Ozonated Water

Ozonated water is an under appreciated and under utilized method of not only keeping healthy but also for killing pathogens.

When I feel a cold or flu coming on, the first thing I do is get my ozone generator out and bubble it through a glass of cold filtered water for 15-20 minutes and drink on an empty stomach.

Ozone is 3 atoms of oxygen, the third is very unstable and is looking for another unstable atom to pair up with which are viruses, bacteria, fungi and toxins.

The pathogens mentioned are normally anerobic so the oxygen will kill them and the oxygen will neutralize the toxin making it easier for your body to get rid of it. So I have killed of the pathogens and started the detox process.

Chia Seed Jelly

Chia seeds are very popular right now, that is because they are so nutritious, they are particularly high in vitamin C which is what I want to strengthen my immune system.

The reason I make them into a jelly is that it makes it easier for your your body to absorb as seeds sometimes have the tendency to ‘pass right through’.

I add two tablespoons (you may want to start off with a smaller amount) to a tall glass of filtered water and stir well a couple times over the space of an hour then consume. You don’t want to consume directly after drinking ozonated water, you need to wait at least half an hour after to eat anything after consuming ozonated water.

Colloidal Silver

Colloidal silver is what was used in place of antibiotics before antibiotics were invented. However in many ways colloidal silver is superior to antibiotics in the respect that they do not kill of the beneficial bacteria so you do not need to take probiotics. Also bacteria cannot build immunity to colloidal silver meaning it is much safer to use.

Simply add the amount recommended on the bottle to a glass of filtered water and consume after you have finished the chia seed jelly.

Vegetable Juice

A vegetable juice is a way of consuming the micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants etc.) of a large quantity of vegetables. For example my favorite juice is celery, carrots, tomato and ginger.

I will juice half a celery, four or five carrots, one or two tomatoes and a thumb sized piece of ginger and drink that over a couple of hours. I would not want to eat that much vegetables in such a short period of time. So I have consumed a lot of vitamins and minerals and they will absorb much better than supplement pills.

Take care not to consume this too soon after the chia seed jelly as you will be taking in a lot of vitamin C which may prompt you to use the toilet too often!

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains lauric acid which can kill off pathogens. What I do is I eat or drink depending on the climate, a tablespoon of coconut oil every 2 hours. This amount is what I find effective, if you consume too much at once you will upset your stomach.

As a bonus regularly consuming coconut oil will improve the health of your skin and provide many other health benefits, coconut oil is one of the healthiest oils.

Get Some Rest

The reason you are sick in the first place could be due to the fact that you are not getting enough sleep or you are very stressed.

If you have sick days then use them, if you are not able to call in sick then just work, do not go to the gym or party afterwards. Your body is already fighting of a cold or flu so don’t over work it.

Have A Smoothie

A smoothie is a delicious way of getting a lot of nutrients in your body quickly, I particularly like green smoothies as it is hard to get enough greens in your diet and it also means I can add some superfood powders into my smoothie to make it extra nutritious!

Again you want to be cautious consuming a smoothie too close to your vegetable juice or chia seed jelly as you will be putting a hell of a lot of nutrients into your body all at once, space them through out the day or you can add the chia jelly to your smoothie.

Drink Plenty Of Water

This is something that you should be doing any way to maintain good health, but you are sick so it is even more important to pay attention to your health.

Make sure you have a good water filter so that you are not getting lots of toxins into your body whilst trying to rehydrate.

Avoid These Things

Do not eat any processed food as it is generally not good for your body and it is probably what helped to make you sick in the first place.

Avoid refined sugar, this really plays havoc on your whole body not to mention your immune system, so ditch the sugar and try and avoid it as much as possible even when you are healthy.

Do not drink alcohol, you should be at home resting any way.

Summary

After you follow the steps above, keep warm, get some rest and you should reduce the severity and the duration of your cold of flu.
